Teddy Bears Picnic

Our entry into the topic of "Food Glorious Food" went ahead last Thursday when, much to the excitement of the children, we had our Teddy Bears Picnic.

The day started with both Prussia Cove and Perran making plenty of sandwiches in readiness for the afternoon.  Mrs Gardner had also bought further provisions of biscuits of the chocolate variety and iced rings which the children were more than pleased with when they saw them!

We discussed the fillings of the sandwiches and found that everybody was pleased with the selection of jam, honey, marmite and cheese fillings.  I must say when we had our picnic all the sandwiches were eaten, except for a few marmite ones.

Thankfully the weather was kind to us and we all had a lovely time on the play equipment too, learning how to climb up and down netting and having a thoroughly enjoyable time.  The children said that even their teddies had enjoyed the picnic!

Now over the next few weeks we will be looking at bread, with Morrisons coming in to help us make some bread; we will be having our harvest festival at St Hilary church and will also be visiting Trevaskis Farm before the end of this half term.  So its going to be a fun filled half term.

We will be continuing our Wednesday Welly Walks every week providing it isn't pouring with rain.  If there are any parents who would like to come with us please let me know, the more hands we have the better!!!  We are usually out for an hour in the afternoon.

I would also like to thank all the parents who came to the parents evening last Wednesday; it was great to meet you all and I am looking forward to this coming academic year playing and having fun with your children!

Other dates for your diaries are:
Parent consultations for the week beginning Monday October 16th.  I will be sending a letter home nearer the time so please don't panic about it!!
