‘Funzone’ After School Club runs for two hours every afternoon from 3.15-5.30 for both infant and junior children. A range of activities are available to the children including a range of crafts, inside and outside sports, board games and films to offer a variety of social experiences. Last term alone we cooked pizzas, made playdough, decorated ginger-bread men and made clay pots!
‘Funzone’ prides itself in having consistently high child numbers and fun activities that take place during the week. Funzone children have even hosted and taken part in a charity fundraising event to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis.
We provide a daily snack for the children at four o’clock and we aim to vary the foods the children eat to meet with the schools Healthy Eating requirements. We encourage communication and respect amongst the children whilst they eat snack at the tables together. The children continue to enjoy the After School Club and enjoy the use of school equipment and space that we have access to.
Our ‘Funzone’ staff: Jodie, Stephanie and Jane, are child protection trained and have a special relationship with the staff that is more laid back than in school hours. Both Stephanie and Jane are trained in basic first aid and Jodie has completed full first aid training.
